We’re excited to announce Plan Group has been awarded the mechanical scope of work for 141 Bay Street in Toronto. 141 Bay is the sister tower to 81 Bay, and together the buildings make up the CIBC Square complex.
The buildings are in Toronto’s financial district, and like its neighbour, 141 Bay is set to tower over the skyline. The 50-storey office tower will be connected to 81 Bay St via a two-acre park over Union Station’s train tracks. It will also be the newest addition to the PATH system, Toronto’s network of underground pedestrian tunnels, that of which connects over 70 buildings to various walkways, entertainment centres and shopping & dining areas.
Plan Group Mechanical will take the lead in designing and implementing all the mechanical installations for this project, including plumbing, piping and sheet metal, paying special attention to sustainability at all stages of the project lifecycle.
141 Bay Street has been designed to meet the same high standards for efficiency, connectivity and wellness that 81 Bay Street meets. Mechanically speaking, plans are in the works for a high functioning HVAC system that minimizes noise while distributing filtered air with temperature consistency throughout. The open floor plates will provide enhanced airflow and temperature control throughout the offices in the building.
We are looking forward to working with EllisDon, Adamson Architects, TMP, Hines, and everyone on the project team once again. We’re honoured to take part in constructing this bold new addition to the Toronto skyline. Thank you to everyone who worked towards making this possible.
