Why change ICAT’s name?

After speaking with clients and employees late last year, and conducting a market research assessment, we discovered the ICAT acronym wasn’t working hard enough. It wasn’t as powerful a descriptor for the work the team does, and many people reported they found it confusing or too vague.

We wanted a name that conveyed Plan Group’s focus on digitizing the work we do, the advanced solutions we offer clients, and the forward-looking nature of the department. As well, we needed a name that was flexible enough to describe the technical depth, breadth and complexity of the business unit, while remaining agile, relevant and easy-to-understand for clients, potential clients, employees and potential employees. 

Glen explains, “as technology in the industry evolves and the demands of our sector continue to grow, we need to ensure that our clients, team members, and supporting organizations first understand who we are, what we do, and how it makes us unique. In order to do so, we must re-brand ourselves with a name that they can recognize, relate to, and create a connection with.”

Why “Technology” Works.

Technology is both an easily understood concept and it is broad enough to cover all the different (and ever evolving) work this department does. Going forward, we believe this name change will help our employees, clients, and potential clients to better understand our service offering, and make it easier for everyone to be ambassadors for the business unit.
