We’re thrilled to announce that Plan Group’s Commercial department has been awarded a complete Mechanical/Electrical/Technology Contract with LCBO at their head office in Toronto’s Downtown Waterfront area.
Plan Group is no stranger to 100 Queens Quay East. In 2018 we won the base build contract, where we installed all the electrical and mechanical systems. As of April 2021, we’re continuing on-site to build out our client’s brand-new head office space.
The Liquor Control Board of Ontario (LCBO) is a Crown corporation that retails and distributes alcoholic beverages throughout the Canadian province of Ontario. They employ over 8,000 people and generate an annual net income of $2.28 billion (CAD). Approximately 225,000 square feet (or 33%) of the 100 Queens Quay East office tower will be reserved for their head office space. Spread over a total of 6 floors, one is set to be a state-of-the-art mixology lab.
As the complete mechanical, electrical and technology subcontractor, the work we do on this project will play a crucial role in ensuring the building can be deemed LEED Platinum Certified. We’ll be installing high-efficiency interior lighting systems and HVAC systems. We are also hoping to install an innovative energy measurement and verification system that’s integrated into the building’s network and will monitor energy consumption and adjust as appropriate.
This win exemplifies Plan Group’s core strengths: being trusted partners, integrated thinkers, solution finders. We look forward to working with Vestacon on this project throughout the course of the next 10 months.
Congratulations to everyone involved!
