We are excited to announce our new partnership with Green Metals Canada and JAND Services Inc.  At certain times construction can have some ‘waste material’; leftovers that can still have value, like copper wire. With this new agreement, Green Metals will purchase Plan Group’s scrap metal and recycle it at its state-of-the-art facility. To get it there, JAND will look after the pick-up and drop off.  Alongside Cherrymill, Green Metals and JAND Services join our approved vendors list for scrap metal collection. 

Located in Cambridge, Ontario, Green Metals is a new kind of recycling facility, one that creates job opportunities for community members with intellectual or developmental disabilities, who may face challenges finding meaningful employment.  

Beyond capacity building within the community, Green Metals also lives up to their name literally, by engineering ways to reduce the environmental impact of the scrap materials they collect. For example, their enclosed facility has multiple barriers in place which prevent stored metals from leaching into the surrounding soil and groundwater; a design that is at the forefront of best practices for materials handling.   

Our new partnership with Green Metals and JAND Services is one more way we are working to reduce our ecological footprint and promote job opportunities in the community.
